BCV adjusts commissions for banking operations and exchange houses

The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) announced this Tuesday, August 4, the adjustment it made to the commissions and surcharges that may be charged by banking institutions, exchange houses and non-bank providers of point-of-sale terminals for their different operations and services.

The new standard was published in Official Gazette No. 41,934, dated on August 3, the site indicated. Banking and Business.

In this sense, the issuance of passbooks (from the second in the year) will have a surcharge of 4,177 bolivars, an increase of 239.04% compared to the previous value. The monthly fee for monthly maintenance of unpaid current accounts of natural persons remains at Bs. 60, but the issuance of account statements implies a surcharge of Bs. 7,482, an increase of 6,135%.

The current account maintenance fee for legal entities is established at Bs. 949. The commission for a check returned for lack of funds is set at Bs. 1,246,842, an escalation of 6,134.21%.

Debit card operations also show substantial increases for surcharges. The replacement surcharge due to loss, theft or deterioration rose to Bs. 2,620, an increase of 238.9%.

For withdrawal, consultation and transfer operations by ATMs of other banks, they are recharged with Bs. 163, or, while withdrawals are charged with 5% of the amount of the operation. In the previous regulation this commission was 3%.

Transactions at the bank’s own ATMs generate surcharges of 129 bolivars and withdrawals a commission of 3% that remains unchanged.

Interbank mobile payment

Interbank mobile payment operations were left with the following commission structure, as detailed by the BCV:

– Approved transactions: up to 0.30% of the payment amount, with a minimum commission of Bs. 373.

– Rejected and / or reversed transactions. For each operation Bs. 373.

– Person to Commerce Service (P2C):

– Approved transactions: up to 1.50% of the payment amount, with a minimum commission of Bs. 3,120.

– Rejected and / or reversed transactions. For each operation Bs. 3,120.

Non-bank providers of points of sale may charge reimbursement for operating costs per terminal up to Bs 2,034,000 per month per installed unit, an increase of 4,765.56%.

Fees for transfers in foreign currency remain at the values ​​in force up to now.

Money Exchange

The structure of commissions and surcharges for exchange houses is as follows:

– Purchase – Sale of foreign currencies via electronic order: 4.00% of the amount in national currency calculated at the exchange rate of the operation, with a minimum equivalent to EUR 2.00.

– Purchase – Sale of foreign currencies via electronic transfer: 1.00% of the amount of the operation in national currency.

– Purchase – Sale of foreign currencies using foreign currency accounts in the national financial system: 1.00% of the amount of the operation in national currency.

– Purchase – Sale of traveler’s checks or checks written in foreign currency: 1.00% of the amount of the operation in national currency.

– Sale of foreign currencies in cash: 5.00% of the amount of the operation in national currency.

These commissions registered no changes.
