BCRP Trujillo resumes face-to-face talks on banknote security elements – News from Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru

From the first Wednesday of April, the Trujillo Branch of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru will resume its free dissemination talks aimed at the general public and non-financial institutions, in which it discloses the security elements of banknotes and coins.

The head of the Trujillo Branch of the BCRP, Elmer Sánchez León, pointed out that since 2020, the dissemination and training talks have been given under the virtual modality, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, as of April 2023, the Trujillo Branch of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru will open its doors to the general public and to different financial and non-financial institutions that wish to participate in dissemination or training talks. , under the face-to-face modality.

The BCRP Trujillo official highlighted three actions that must be carried out to authenticate a ticket quickly and safely: Touch, Look and Turn. That is, touch the texture of the paper, place the bill against the light to see the watermark and turn to see the color changes of the ink from fuchsia to green on the bills of 10, 20, 50 and 100 nuevos soles, and from green to copper in the bills of 200 nuevos soles.

The Trujillo Branch of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, in line with its commitment to institutional projection, also offers free training talks to the financial system in compliance with the Banknote and Coin Exchange Regulations (Circular No. 016-2018-BCRP), the which are requested directly by the coordinators of each financial institution.

Dissemination talks to the public under the face-to-face modality will be held every Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and training talks for the financial system will take place every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. am All talks are free.
