BCA Asset Translucent IDR 1,000 Trillion

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk for the first time recorded assets of IDR 1,000 trillion, or more precisely IDR 1,003.6 trillion until the end of September 2020.

President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja said that the asset grew double digits, around 12.3 percent compared to the same period last year (year on year / yoy) of Rp 893.59 trillion.

“This is the first time that our assets are Rp. 1,000 trillion. This is an extraordinary thing,” said BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja in a virtual video conference on BCA’s third quarter 2020 performance presentation, Monday (26/10/2020).

Jahja said, these assets increased supported by an increase in Third Party Funds (DPK). Deposits recorded grew by 14.3 percent (yoy) reaching Rp. 780.7 trillion.

Meanwhile, time deposits increased by 8.8 percent (yoy) to Rp. 184.1 trillion.

“The solid growth of third party funds has supported the growth of BCA’s total assets to penetrate the level of one thousand trillion or to be precise Rp. 1003.6 trillion, an increase of 12.3 percent (yoy),” said Jahja.

Furthermore, from the funding side, CASA grew 16.1 percent (yoy) to reach Rp. 596.6 trillion. CASA contributed 76.4 percent of total third party funds.

CASA is also contributed by the BCA transaction banking franchise and the development of various digital services. Current accounts or current accounts rose by 14.3 percent (yoy) to Rp 205.42 trillion.

“BCA processed around 3 million transactions per day during the first nine months of 2020, an increase from 26 million transactions per day in the same period the previous year,” concluded Jahja.

For information, BCA recorded a decline in profit of 4.2 percent to Rp 20 trillion by the third quarter of 2020. Last year in the same period, profits reached Rp 20.9 trillion (year on year / yoy).

The decline in profit was due to the increase in the cost of reserves amid the Covid-19 pandemic. BCA posted a reserve fee of Rp. 9.1 trillion, an increase of Rp. 5.6 trillion or 160.6 percent (yoy).
