Baziège. The earth is losing ground for the Pierre-Henri comic book group

After two years of absence, the comic strip group from the Pierre-Henri home will once again participate in the Hippocampe comics competition at the Angoulême comic book festival. In this group, we will find regulars like Eliane, Anne-Marie, Audrey, Bayron, Christine, Dimitri Réhal, but also new participants like Morgane and François. Other residents also make their contributions at certain times, especially for writing with Nils, Célia or even Christopher.

As a reminder, the BD group has already won several prizes during this famous competition: 2012 Special Jury Prize, 2014 1st Hippocampe d’Or prize, 2016 bis repetita 1st Hippocampe d’Or prize. Also, in 2016 during their stay in Angoulême, the authors were informed that it would be impossible for them to win in the future. We have to share and the group had made up its mind.

Despite everything, unconsciously, a little demotivation was felt and the group of creators therefore did not participate in the last two editions of the competition. Yet after two years of recharging the batteries; here they are, ready to relaunch their participation. The theme of the 2020 competition fits perfectly with current events: “The earth loses the ball”. Quite a program when you know the general context. “As usual we will do our best to offer pretty and precise drawings but also a story that will be thought-provoking. We have made 4 boards in the format 50 by 70 cm. We now intend, and this from the start of January, to rework the drawings and to deepen the research and texts in order to transform the comic book into an illustration book, “added the group of cartoonists from the Pierre-Henri home, determined to win a once again the prize of the Hippocame competition.
