Battery problems: Volkswagen stops production of electric ID Buzz

Volkswgen has temporarily stopped production of the electric models ID Buzz and ID Buzz Cargo at the Hanover commercial vehicle plant. This is because there are battery issues that can affect the quality of both models.

According to the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, some cell modules of the electric Bulli battery fail to provide the desired performance, resulting in voltage drops that reduce the vehicle’s range and can also affect battery life. In view of these circumstances, the company has decided to suspend production of ID Buzz and ID Buzz Cargo, which had only recently started at the Hanover plant, for a week.

The battery supplier is already working to fix the problem, reports Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. About 500 vehicles have been produced so far, but deliveries to customers have not yet begun.
