Batak girl on Emirates airline, there is a temple bigger than Borobudur

Air hostess from Indonesia in Emirates, Kartika Kasih told about her experience. In addition, there is a temple larger than Borobudur that needs to be restored.

Her name is Kartika Kasih. Currently, Kartika works as an Emirates flight attendant. Kartika broke the tradition in her Batak family by becoming a flight attendant, instead of becoming a lawyer or prosecutor like most stereotypes about Batak people.

The story of Kartika’s life to the point where she is now is quite long. At the age of 16, Kartika has migrated from Batam, where she grew up.

“I started my adventure when I was only 16 years old. I had to leave my family in Batam to pursue my dream and complete my degree in Singapore. These times made me more independent,” said Kartika, Sunday (10/4/2022). ).

After graduating from college in the field of Hospitality and Tourism, Kartika immediately joined the Emirates airline as a flight attendant. At only 21 years old, Kartika decided to move to Dubai.

“I still have a long way to go; after graduating from university, I immediately joined Emirates. I moved to Dubai when I was 21 years old and have been a part of Emirates ever since,” he said.

For the first 2 years, Kartika was assigned to serve economy class passengers. After being deemed qualified, Kartika was promoted to serve Emirates business class passengers.

While working as a flight attendant, Kartika often feels homesick, but she makes missing her family a challenge that must be faced.

“This is my toughest challenge. I am quite close to my brothers and sisters, and I always miss them. I usually visit Jakarta to spend time with them. However, since the pandemic, the flexibility to travel is limited. For now, I have to rely on calls Zoom, and I hope the travel industry will recover soon,” Kartika concluded.
