An altercation occurred Tuesday between rival gangs known to the police. A young Fribourgeois was hospitalized and five Vaudois placed in detention.
They first stood out at Vevey (VD) station on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. Then, with much more noise on a bus, in Corsier-sur-Vevey, less than an hour later. It was a VMCV driver who alerted the emergency services: two rival gangs of teenagers clashed inside the vehicle as well as at a bus stop. A youngster was injured. “The injured young man, aged 14 and domiciled in the canton of Friborg, was taken care of by an ambulance bound for the Riviera-Chablais Hospital in Rennaz. He suffers from head injuries, various bruises and hematomas. His days are not in danger, “said the Vaud cantonal police on Friday. Two days later, this Thursday, five young people from Vevey, “aged 15 to 17 years” were picked up by the gendarmerie, heard by the police, and presented to the president of the Juvenile Court, who placed them in pre-trial detention. Because the young people were already well known to the police, who point out that the two gangs are not the first time they have met. “These are two rival groups of teenagers who have been fighting each other for a long time in both Vaud and Friborg,” she said.

In November, two attacks on citizens, relayed by “24 hours” had revived suspicion on the gang of young people from Vevey, “aged 15 to 17 years”, according to the police.
