To the inhabitants of the ‘Las Casitas Blancas’ sector, in Santa Lucia (Atlantic), it is no longer unusual for snakes, poisonous vermin or babillas to appear on any terrace or patio at any time of the day.
This is denounced by Milton Guerrero Niño, who this week captured a stifle and He claims that they have killed more than one poisonous snake and bugs such as scorpions, giant centipedes, spiders, among others
The problem, Guerrera explains, is that in front of this neighborhood there are stagnant waters, which are currently the lair of all kinds of poisonous critters and dangerous for the health and safety of the community.

Las Casitas Blancas, is how this residential sector is known, delivered about four years ago by the Adaptation Fund to families affected by the flood, which was registered in this area of the south of the department in 2010 due to the rupture of the Canal del Dique.

“You are sitting at the door, when a snake or any of these animals suddenly appears,” says Guerrero.
As if the care that this community should have for the coronavirus pandemic were not enough, being in front of these black waters exposes them to mosquito bites, which are also affecting several families.

The Municipal Municipality of Santa Lucia already knows the complaint of this community, and they explained that the problem occurs because the manjoles are covered due to the garbage that people throw away. “It has already been explained to them, but nothing. From these manjoles they have taken out garbage bags, even pants,” said an official.
