Barn in Grabitz near Furth im Wald burned down – Ostbayern-Kurier

Furth in the forest. On January 21 at 10:46 a.m., the ILS Regensburg alerted numerous fire brigades to a barn fire in the Further district of Grabitz according to the alarm keyword “B4 – Fire agricultural property”.

When the first emergency services arrived, the building, in which, among other things, vehicles were stored, was already fully engulfed in flames. The fire threatened to spread to the adjacent residential buildings due to the narrow development. Bolt positions were immediately set up to protect the buildings from the flames.

The fire was also fought from above using the turning tubes of the turntable ladders from Furth im Wald and Neukirchen near Heiligen Blut. The stream that ran nearby was used to supply fire-fighting water, so the emergency services, supported by the hose wagon train, were able to lay four lines to the fire object. Another three lines were laid from surrounding hydrants. Numerous breathing apparatus wearers extinguished the flames.

A spread to the adjacent buildings could be prevented, but the barn burned down completely. The extinguishing work and the control of the embers continued into the afternoon.

Head of operations was 1st commander Raphael Malczewski from FF Grabitz, he was supported by district fire inspector Marco Greil and district fire chiefs Markus Hierstetter and Michael Gutscher. Also at the site was the Arrach local operations management support group, led by Josef Pritzl. Furthermore, the technical advisors of the Technical Relief Organization from Cham and the district fire brigade doctor Dr. Stephen Enderlein. The rescue service was also on site with several vehicles and operations manager Tobias Muhr.

A total of over 120 emergency services from the fire brigade, BRK, THW and police were deployed. Luckily nobody was injured during this operation. The following fire brigades were deployed: Grabitz, Furth im Wald, Schwarzenberg, Kleinaign, Bad Kötzting, Vorderbuchberg, Ränkam, Schafberg, Lixenried, Arnschwang, Sengenbühl, Daberg, Gleißenberg, Neukirchen near Heiligen Blut and Blaibach.
