Barcelona Faces Mallorca Without Key Players
Barcelona, Spain – Barcelona will travel to Mallorca on Saturday at 7:30 PM local time for their first league match of the season without several key players. Manager hansi Flick has announced the squad, and notably, no Polish players were included.
The situation in Barcelona’s goal has been a topic of discussion, as Marc-Andre ter Stegen is currently unavailable due to back surgery. This absence has allowed for the registration of Joan Garcia, a product of Espanyol’s academy, who is expected to start in goal. It is unlikely that Flick will opt for Inaki Peña or Diego Kochena.
Wojciech Szczęsny is not yet registered with the Spanish league, but Barcelona has until the end of the transfer window to resolve this issue. Robert Lewandowski will also miss the match due to a muscle injury. Flick’s offensive options include Lamine yamal, raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford, who was registered on Saturday morning.
Flick has also included several young players from La Masia, Barcelona’s academy, in the squad. Guille Fernandez, Toni Fernandez, Dro, and Jofre Torrents could see playing time on the pitch.
Besides Szczęsny, Roony Bardghji, recently signed from Copenhagen, and Gerard Martin, previously with barcelona’s reserve team, are also awaiting registration.
