Barcelona Move Cage, Season Ticket Quota Will Be Reduced

Barcelona

Barcelona reported to be moving cages next season. They will temporarily leave Camp Nou which will be renovated.

Barcelona plans to renovate their Camp Nou headquarters. This has prevented the Blaugrana from using the 99,500-seat stadium in the 2023/2024 season.

The Blaugrana are forced to move the cage next season. They decided to use Estadi Lluis Companys for the 2023/2024 season.

The stadium which is still in the Barcelona area is better known as Montjuic. Mountjuic was the home of city rivals Barcelona, Espanyol in the 1997-2009 range.

Espanyol then moved to the RCDE Stadium which is their own stadium. Since then Montjuic was not used by the Spanish League team before Barcelona used it.

Montjuic was built in 1927 with a capacity of 55,926. Montjuic is a type of Olympic stadium that has an athletics track on the edge of the field.

Montjuic’s smaller capacity than Camp Nou has forced Barcelona to make adjustments regarding season ticket sales. Quoted from Football Espana, El Barca will only sell 25,000 season tickets for home games next season.

At this moment Barcelona has 83,000 season ticket holders. A very large reduction had to be made in order to match Montjuic’s capacity.

It is not yet known exactly how Barcelona’s season ticket rations will be distributed next season. Bearing in mind that most of the previous season ticket holders will not get this quota next season.
