Barcelona makes its preseason official

The Barcelona Football Club officially announced what its 2022/2023 preseason will be like, announcing the first dates, venues and rivals in the United States, in addition to the first mini-tour through Australia, which will begin next Monday, the day after playing the last game of La Liga against Villarreal at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona announced that the tour of the United States will begin in Miami, where on July 19 they will play their first friendly against Inter, whose owner is former soccer player David Beckham, at 7:30 p.m. local time and at the DRV PNK Stadium.

Inter’s coach is former Manchester United player Phil Neville and his centre-forward, Argentine former Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus and River Gonzalo Higuain.

On July 30, Barcelona will play the New York Red Bulls, founded in 1994 and managed by Gerhard Struber, a former Austrian footballer, in what will be the third historical confrontation between the two clubs.

Although all the details of the tour of the United States are not yet known, it is known that Barcelona will play two more games, one in Los Angeles and the other, already confirmed, in Las Vegas and against Real Madrid.

Barcelona had not traveled to the United States since 2019, when the coach was Ernesto Valverde, and played two friendlies at that time, one against Napoli in Miami, and the other in Michigan against Ann Arbor.

This visit will allow us to get closer to them, share our values ​​and our feeling for Barcelona and it will be an opportunity for them to enjoy our team on the pitch”, said Juli Guiu, vice-president of the Barça marketing area.

Xavi Asensi, Inter Miami’s chief business officer, maintained that “Bringing a club of the caliber of FC Barcelona to South Florida will continue to put our region on the map as the world epicenter of soccer. We are proud and excited to bring this great match to the DRV PNK Stadium for our growing, passionate and multi-cultural fan base.”
