Barcelona | Barça: “Arthur’s car had a mechanical problem”

FC Barcelona contacted Ace to ensure that Arthur did not skip the LaLiga protocol and that the reason he arrived in training on Monday in another car was a “mechanical problem” in his Range Rover. As detailed by the program Què T’hi Jugues of SER Catalunya, the specific mishap is that the Range Rover ran out of “battery”. Barça assures that the LaLiga inspector knew of the problem, that it had been notified and that the player “has not breached protocol.”

Presumably, the Brazilian Arthur had skipped the protocol established by LaLiga in phase 2 back to training. The Brazilian had gone to the Ciutat Esportiva del Barça on Monday with a different vehicle than the one that arrived last Friday, the first day of individual training for the Barça players.

In the protocol sent to the players, it is specified that “to get to the sports facilities from your home, you will have to do it using your car, always having to be the same”. Arthur did not meet the standard and arrived in another vehicle. Last Friday, Arthur arrived with a Range Rover; this Monday, with a Ferrari. Barça, however, alleged a mechanical problem.

Compliance with the protocol is considered basic by LaLiga so that the competition can be resumed. A few days ago, the return of the Bundesliga was shaken by the appearance of Salomon Kalou in the Hertha locker room, skipping all sanitary protocols. Hertha decided to suspend the footballer until the end of the season. Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, already warned this Sunday before the Movistar cameras, that the clubs should be the ones to take action, although the body reserves the option to act accordingly.
