FC Barcelona’s Joan Laporta apparently wants to try to bring Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola back to Catalonia. The club boss allegedly made the first attempt on Sunday.

Under the first presidency of Joan Laporta, Pep Guardiola was promoted to coach of the FC Barcelona first team in 2008. It should be the beginning of the most successful era in the club’s history.
In four years of creative work at Blaugrana, Guardiola won 14 titles, including twice the Champions League. The starter coach is currently under contract with Manchester City, which will run until 2023.
So far, Guardiola has always emphasized that a return to Barça as a first-team coach is out of the question for him. Laporta knows these statements, of course, but allegedly still wants to throw his hat into the ring at Guardiola.

As the sports daily AS from Madrid claims to have found out, Laporta undertook a first discussion offensive on Sunday. According to the Sportblatt, the lawyer wanted to persuade his former employee to return to his home country the day after the Champions League final.
On Saturday Guardiola played his first premier class final with Manchester City since winning the title with Barcelona in 2011. The opponent in Porto was Chelsea. Pep and City had to admit defeat.

An obligation Guardiola for the new season is not realistic, so the newspaper AS. Cooperation from summer 2022, on the other hand, could be feasible.
At the moment, Barça is still coached by Ronald Koeman. The 58-year-old won the Spanish Cup with the Catalans, built in many young players and earned the respect of Lionel Messi, but the Catalans were eliminated in the Champions League round of 16 and left empty in the championship fight of the Primera Division.
Koeman’s contract is valid until 2022. It is still open whether the Dutchman will be able to fulfill his working paper. According to Laporta, the past season is still being analyzed.
