Banker who advised Braun is leaving UniCredit

Jana Hecker, Head of Equity Capital Markets, left UniCredit surprisingly. The bank confirmed the departure of the Berliner Zeitung. In 2020, Hecker helped the CEO of Wirecard AG, Markus Braun, to take out new loans. She apparently left UniCredit at very short notice. Last week, when the Financial Times revealed Hecker’s connection to Wirecard, the manager was working for the bank. The bank did not want to comment on the details of the personnel.

After Deutsche Bank had made a loan due and Braun had to temporarily service an unsecured loan from the Wirecard Bank, he turned to Hecker: They provided Braun with the necessary funds with loans from the Oldenburgische Landesbank and a fund from Rocket Internet.

Hecker previously worked for Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank.
