A woman surnamed Zhao in Acheng District, Harbin City, mainland China, just recently endured the pain of a white-haired man giving away a black-haired man. Unexpectedly, she had no income. She went to the bank to get the money from her deceased son, but was repeatedly rejected. After hearing this, the People’s Court of Acheng District, Erbin City ruled that the bank should pay Ms. Zhao’s son’s money to Mrs. Zhao.

According to a report by the Lu media “Jiupai News”, a 79-year-old woman surnamed Zhao told in tears that her husband died and her son drowned in December 2022. Since her son was unmarried, had no spouse and had no children, she was the only legal heir.

Because she had no income a few days ago, she went to the bank to get 410,000 RMB (approximately NT$1.775 million) left by her son to live, but she was rejected unexpectedly. Ms. Zhao said that the bank refused to take the money from her because she could not identify whether she was the sole legal heir, so she had to sue the court.

After the trial, the court found that Mrs. Zhao and the man surnamed Sun were indeed mother-son, and his father had also passed away. Therefore, Mrs. Zhao was the only legal heir of Mr. Sun, and the bank was sentenced to deposit 410,000 RMB (approximately NT$) from Mr. Sun. 1.775 million) and interest to Mrs. Zhao, and assisted her in handling relevant withdrawal procedures.
