Mohammad Saifuddin and Mahedi Hasan guided Bangladesh to victory with an unbeaten partnership, reaching the target of 170 with just two balls remaining. The series now hinges on the final match, scheduled for Tuesday in Mirpur, with both teams vying for the T20I series win.
Ireland posted a total of 170-6 after being put into bat, with Lorcan Tucker top-scoring with 41. Paul Stirling contributed 29 and Tim Tector added 38 in an opening partnership of 57. George Dockrell supported with 18 in a crucial fifth-wicket stand.
Bangladesh’s chase began strongly with Parvez Hossain Emon scoring 43 and captain Litton Kumar Das adding 57. Though, a mid-innings collapse saw the wickets of saif Hassan (22), tawhid Hridoy (6), and Nurul Hasan Sohan (5) fall in rapid succession, creating significant pressure.
Sjak Mahedi Hasan was the most accomplished Bangladesh bowler, claiming 3-25. For Ireland, mark Adair and Gareth Delany each took two wickets.
Ireland had won the first match of the series on Thursday by 39 runs.
