Bang & Olufsen launches the first true wireless headphones with adaptive noise reduction

In neighboring Denmark, Bang & Olufsen has launched Beoplay EQ, the first true wireless headphones with adaptive noise reduction. Adaptive noise reduction is a more sophisticated technology that uses both microphones and speakers to adjust the sound to the noise level around you. Bang & Olufsen claims that Beoplay EQ does just that and effectively eliminates ambient sound.

To achieve this, they have developed an adaptive in combination with passive noise reduction. Beoplay EQ has a dedicated dsp processor and six microphones that automatically set the level of noise reduction depending on ambient sound.

The headphones use bluetooth 5.2 and have a range of about ten meters. Support is available for both Apple’s lossless and Qualcomm’s Aptx Adaptive. Aptx Adaptive can deliver wireless high definition audio with up to 24-bit resolution and sampling frequency up to 48kHz.

BeoPlay EQ remembers the last eight paired devices you have used and has ip54 certification. The headphones have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery of 85mAh. They also support qi charging. Bang & Olufsen says that you get about 7.5 hours of playback without noise reduction and 6.5 hours with noise reduction.

BeoPlay EQ is available in two colors: black anthracite and sand-colored. The price is SEK 4,119 and they will be available to order from the 19th of August.
