Baltic Block starts cooperation with the global company CHEP :: Dienas Bizness

In December 2020, one of the largest manufacturers of chipboard pallet blocks in Europe, the domestic company “Baltic Block” has started cooperation with the international pallet and container rental company “CHEP”.

The company’s management predicts that in the future, the orders of the global leader “CHEP” could account for at least 20 to 25% of the manufactured and exported products.

CHEP attaches great importance to the implementation of high quality standards at every stage of delivery and storage of goods, including the quality of composite blocks, in the provision of services. It took Baltic Block several years to start cooperating with CHEP and get to the first deliveries. Active cooperation has been started this year, which in the future could result not only in the increase of the produced capacity, but also in the expansion of the network of partners.

In order to conclude cooperation with CHEP, the composite blocks had to be subjected to stricter tests – the occurrence of the minimum required density, testing of water resistance and nail holding capacity. After successful testing in German laboratories, the blocks are sent for final testing to the United States, the “CHEP” laboratory.

The manufacturer of composite pallet blocks has so far mainly specialized in the acquisition and export of foreign markets, however, this type of cooperation is an important event in the development of the company.

“We are pleased not only that CHEP is now our customer, but also that over the years, working to improve quality in accordance with CHEP requirements, we have significantly grown our competence and know-how. This is a benefit for all our customers. “This is a great achievement for us as” Baltic Block “,” says Andis Skele, Director of “Baltic Block”.

The two companies also share similar values and goals. Quality as one factor and environmentally sustainable business as another. Baltic Block takes care of energy efficiency, achieving more and more significant energy savings every year, while CHEP strives to reduce waste, reduce the use of natural resources, and take care of more efficient and sustainable business.

“Baltic Block” is one of the largest manufacturers of particle board pallets in Europe, with a production facility in Madona district, Sauleskalns. The company employs about 100 people every day, ensuring the continuous operation of the plant. Baltic Block’s products are exported to more than 30 countries around the world, including the USA, China, Qatar and practically all of Europe.
