Baltasar Engonga Edjo Takes Over as CEMAC President with Support from Cameroonian Charles Assamba Ongodo – Reported by 237online.com

Baltasar Engonga Edjo, Equatoguinean Minister for Integration for more than ten years, has been appointed President of the Commission of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).

His appointment was made official at the 15th Summit of Heads of State, where he succeeds Gabonese Daniel Ona Ondo, in office since November 2017 for a five-year term. Cameroonian Charles Assamba Ongodo, director of cooperation with emerging countries at the Cameroonian Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, has been appointed as deputy to Baltasar Engonga Edjo.

CEMAC, which brings together six Central African countries, plays an essential role in economic development and regional integration. With the arrival of Baltasar Engonga Edjo at the head of the commission, new perspectives and challenges are opening up for the organization and its member states.

The partnership between Baltasar Engonga Edjo and Charles Assamba Ongodo, two key players in regional integration in Central Africa, promises to strengthen cooperation between CEMAC member countries and contribute to the economic development of the region.
