Open schools or not? 11 circles pull the emergency brake

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In many parts of Baden-Württemberg, the school openings planned for this Monday for all children and adolescents are falling victim to the Corona emergency brake. 11 of 44 urban and rural districts alone will leave the schools largely closed because they have either been three days above the incidence of 200 or are about to do so. After the major cities of Stuttgart and Ulm, the district offices in the Ostalb district and in Rottweil also recommended that the openings should be avoided due to the sharp increase in the number of infections.
In corona hotspots with recently over 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week, there should only be distance learning. These include the city and district of Heilbronn, Schwäbisch Hall, the Hohenlohe district, Göppingen, Heidenheim and Rastatt. At least six other districts in the southwest are just below the critical threshold of 200 or exceeded it for the first time on Saturday like Ludwigsburg.
