Baden-Württemberg: Court overturns 2G regulation in retail

Baden-Württemberg (pm/msc) Dhe Baden-Württemberg Administrative Court overturned the 2G rule for retail. The VGH announced on Tuesday in Mannheim that the freezing of alarm level II by the Corona regulation of the state government is likely to be illegal. At the same time, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Health has adjusted the quarantine rules. These changes will come into effect tomorrow, Wednesday.

The court decision of the VGH goes hand in hand with the fact that the 3G regulation applies again in retail. In addition to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, people with a current test are also allowed to go shopping in stores again.

A woman from the district of Ortenau had complained. She runs a stationery shop and sees her professional freedom and the principle of equal treatment violated. Stationery shops are no less important than flower shops, which the state government counts as part of the basic supply and which are therefore not subject to 2 G restrictions. Freezing alarm level II is incompatible with the requirements of the Infection Protection Act.

New quarantine rules

The country has also announced that the quarantine regime will change starting tomorrow. As before, household members and close contacts are exempt from the obligation to quarantine if they have been vaccinated or recovered or refreshed. In the future, those who have recovered with at least one vaccination will also be considered boosted and therefore no longer have to be in quarantine as contact persons. The order of vaccination and infection is irrelevant.

Tightening of the mask requirement in public transport

In view of the sharply increasing incidences caused by the Omicron variant, FFP2 masks should again be compulsory in public transport in Baden-Württemberg in the future
give. This was announced by the State Transport Minister Winfried Hermann, explains the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV). The regulation is to be anchored in the new Corona state ordinance, which is expected to come into force at the end of this week.
