Lucerne (energate) – Avia Volt will present a new charging station for charging electric trucks at the “Auto Zürich” motor show which begins today. The charging station offers up to 600 kW of power per charging point as well as a constant current intensity of 600 amps. The charging station would thus be a world first. The current charging stations have a maximum power of 400 kW, announces the Lucerne company. Avia Volt further draws attention to the fact that the system can reach an output of 700 kW with an additional booster battery.
With the Hugelshofer Group, a first customer has already been found for the new 600 kW charging station. “Thanks to this charging station, we can charge our electric truck fleet even faster and thus transport even more goods with our electric vehicles,” says Martin Lörtscher, CEO and co-owner of the Thurgau transport and logistics company. According to Avia Volt, the new charging station can recharge a 44-ton truck in less than 90 minutes.
The charging station comes from Kostad
Avia Volt Suisse SA is a joint venture of Avia member companies in Switzerland. The company was founded in 2023 to establish a fast charging network throughout Switzerland by integrating Avia service stations. Since this year, the company has been the exclusive distribution partner of Kostad, the Austrian fast charging specialist. It is also from this company that the charging station that Avia is now launching in Switzerland comes from.
As part of the agreement, Avia Volt additionally took over the Swiss distribution company Kostad. The company has thus taken an important step towards becoming a complete system provider for electric mobility solutions and is also announcing its first partnerships. Avia Volt has already received orders from Swiss transport companies such as Planzer, Christian Cavegn and Emil Egger. The food distributor Spar and its subsidiary TopCC also rely on Avia Volt charging stations. /mg
