Auto-Chancellor angry climate adhesive – blockade in Graz

On Monday there was a new blockade by the last generation in Graz. The activists are angry about Nehammer’s car announcement.

Karl Nehammer’s turquoise commitment to the combustion engine ignited a new wave of protests from climate stickers on Monday. In Vienna, shortly after 8 a.m., activists from the last generation had once again pecked onto the lanes at Naschmarkt and Schwarzenbergplatz. There was also a blockade in Graz.

They were accompanied by numerous scientists who own opinion explained their position: “In our scientific studies, we see how devastating the consequences will be for all of us if we don’t immediately do much more climate protection. […] The situation today is critical with regard to the consequences of climate change – social discussion and joint decisions are therefore in our very own interest.”

In the Styrian capital, several activists with safety vests and banners sat down on the road. The group gave the members there a voice via Twitter and railed against the chancellor and the incompetence of the government:

“More and more regions in Austria are affected by drought and water shortages, while Nehammer describes Austria as a car country and refuses to implement the simplest protective measures such as Tempo100 on motorways,” write the climate activists.
