FORT WORTH, Texas. – The Fort Worth Fire Department said through its Twitter account that its teams managed to control a raging fire that kept burning for almost 12 hours, this Sunday morning.

City firefighters came in around midnight for calls about the fire in the 6200 block of Salt Road, at a fertilizer collection site.

Unofficial reports indicate the fire, which originated from four fertilizer piles about 40 feet high that extended to a total of 300 yards long.

The fire was controlled but continued to burn through Sunday morning, authorities said.

Fire crews rotated every two hours to monitor the fire until it died down. Fortunately, no injured people have been reported.
