Australian Open – 2021 kicks off February 8th – Tennis News

The tournament will take place in Melbourne. The qualifying round will take place from 10 to 13 January in Doha. From February 1 to 5, Melbourne will host the ATP Cup, which is held among national teams and is a preparatory one for the Australian Open. The men’s tennis season kicks off on January 5 with the ATP Delray Beach Open in the United States and the Antalya Open in Turkey. Melbourne will host two more ATP tournaments from January 31 to February 6.

Australian Open is traditionally the first of the season among Grand Slam tournaments. Last year, the tournament was held from January 20 to February 2, the Serb Novak Djokovic won in the men’s singles, and the American Sofia Kenin won the women’s singles. Earlier, the director of the Australian Open, Craig Tealey, announced the postponement of the tournament for three weeks.
