Australian macadamia yield forecast reduced due to severe weather and flooding ‹ Fruit Portal

The Australian macadamia yield forecast has been reduced by 10%, as has the Australian, as a direct result of recent severe weather and flooding in NSW and South East Queensland Macadamia Society (AMS) confirmed.

The forecast is now 49,340 tonnes in-shell at 3.5% (52,900 tonnes in-shell at 10% moisture), down from the original figure of 54,930 tonnes in-shell at 3.5% (58,900 tonnes in-shell at 10% humidity).

AMS Chief Executive (CEO) Jolyon Burnett said New South Wales (NSW) growers have been hit hardest and the prolonged rains followed by the two floods made harvesting even more difficult.
