CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer players Lauryn Berry, Sophie Davidson, and Ellie Dreas have been recognized for their academic and athletic achievements, earning selection to the 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer team, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The honor celebrates student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.
This recognition highlights Austin Peay’s commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic success, showcasing the dedication of these three Governors. Selection to the All-District team is a significant step toward earning academic All-America® honors, which will be announced later this month. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and academics.
Berry, a junior goalkeeper from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, anchored the Govs’ defense this season, leading the ASUN Conference with an impressive 116 total saves.Her average of 6.44 saves per game ranked second in the league and placed her tenth nationally among NCAA Division I players. Throughout her career, Berry has accumulated 191 saves, positioning her fourth in Austin Peay’s all-time record books.
Senior Ellie Dreas, a midfielder from Covington, Kentucky, consistently contributed to the Governors’ lineup, starting all 18 matches and logging 1,492 minutes on the pitch. Dreas concluded her Austin peay career with a total of 6,084 minutes played, the eighth-highest total in program history. She also led the team in offensive efforts this season, recording 31 shots and 16 shots on goal.
Rounding out the honorees is senior Sophie Davidson, a transfer from George Mason and a native of Fulton, maryland. Davidson made a valuable impact in her first season as a Governor, appearing in 882 minutes and securing her first collegiate assist at Central Arkansas on October 5th, contributing to the team’s first ASUN Conference point of the season.
