Friday April 9, the gendarmes of the motorized brigade of Hayange (BMO) carried out a new speed control operation on the secondary network north-Moselle. This time, it was on the D616, more commonly known as the “Audun-le-Tiche bypass”, that they aimed their binoculars. This road, inaugurated in 2016 and used daily by thousands of motorists, links the district of Belval, in Luxembourg, to the commercial activity zone of Audun-le-Tiche.

Many licenses withdrawn
Reserved for cars, this “track” nonetheless attracts many fighter pilots … As evidenced by the twenty speeding violations recorded during the two hours of the control operation.
More than half of these excesses led to the withdrawal of permits (French and foreign). Three people, including a biker, were particularly flashed at more than 50 km / h above the maximum authorized speed (90 km / h). Eight other motorists were speeding more than 40 km / h, including two young drivers and one person who was driving without a license.
These drivers in a hurry will be the subject of a summons to the court of Thionville in the coming months.
