The IHK audit showed that the range of services and the behavior of the municipality towards its citizens were important, summarizes Isabel Schauz, specialist for the IHK, the results of the audit. To increase the attractiveness of the city among citizens, tourists and potential new residents is particularly important to the spa town, continues Schauz.
There were special points for extraordinary projects and services, among other things, for the “digital shopping city” concept. The aim of the initiative is to combine the advantages of online shopping with local shopping, thus strengthening brick-and-mortar retailing and making it future-proof. Bad Kissingen also strengthens the feeling of togetherness with its city by applying for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List “Great spas of europe”. The associated measures and citizen participation formats would increase the attractiveness as a place to live, work and relax, adds the IHK expert.
Development goals for the next three years
The outgoing mayor Kay Blankenburg was very happy about the award. “We are proud that we have successfully passed the audit and shows that we are on the right path. But the city does not want to rest on these laurels. We want to continue to work on making people in Bad Kissingen feel good and welcome new citizens. “
In order to put the words into action, the city and IHK have agreed development goals that are to be implemented in the next three years. This includes, among other things, a concept of a welcome culture, the provision of initial information for new citizens on the website of the city administration and the further expansion of the childcare offer.
A marketing tool – also for companies!
The “Excellent place to live for specialists” audit, especially for cities and municipalities, is intended to support them in developing long-term strategies for citizens and new residents in order to score as an attractive place to live and work. “Our region is dependent on well-trained specialists now and in the future. Attractive conditions in the company and on-site determine whether specialists and their families settle here. The quality mark should support this as a location marketing tool,” explains Schauz.
Companies in Bad Kissingen can now also advertise their location with the quality label and actively use the logo in marketing for specialists, for example on the homepage or other communication channels. The logo, which can be used for the duration of the award period, is available from Svenja Melchert, Wirtschaftsförderung Stadt Bad Kissingen, Tel .: 0971/807 1080, email: [email protected].
