Russian tour operators have not received instructions that Russian citizens arriving from abroad by plane will have to be in home isolation pending coronavirus test results. Maya Lomidze, executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, told RBC.
“As always, everything became known“ in time ”. Amendments to the Resolution were introduced on the 18th, published on the 23rd, and will enter into force tomorrow, from September 24, ”Lomidze said.
“Regarding how they will follow – a question for Rospotrebnadzor. I suspect that they will follow through the “Gosuslugi” portal, where a person who has returned from abroad must publish the test results within three days. According to the text of the decree, it is assumed that the person has arrived, passed the test, and is sitting at home. Apparently, self-isolation in the best possible scenario can take three days, ”she added.
The fact that Russian citizens arriving in Russia from abroad by plane will have to be in home isolation, it says in the decree of the country’s chief sanitary doctor Anna Popova.
In mid-July, the Russian authorities canceled mandatory two-week isolation for citizens entering the country from abroad. The visitor must have a medical document confirming a negative COVID-19 test.
In the absence of such a document, Russians and foreigners had to take a coronavirus test in the country. In case of a positive result, the visitor was sent to home quarantine until he recovered and received a negative test. However, the decree of the head of Rospotrebnadzor did not specify exactly where people should be from the moment they passed the test until the results were obtained.
Earlier Popova stated about a stable epidemiological situation in Russia, despite an increase in the number of new cases of coronavirus. At the same time, she linked the increase in the number of cases, among other things, with the return of citizens on vacation from abroad.
