The Swedish world record holder Pole vault Armand Duplantis cleared 6.10 m on Wednesday during the indoor meeting in Belgrade, before tackling the world record without success. Duplantis thus improved his own best world performance of the season (6.03m so far).
Armand Duplantis was however injured during the Liévin meeting two weeks ago, which he had won with a jump to 5.86 m, before stopping prematurely and not competing for two weeks.

Duplantis (21) cleared 6.10m on his first attempt before failing twice to improve his own world record to 6.19m. With 6.10 m, he signed the 9th best indoor performance in the world of all time. No one other than him, indoors or outdoors, has reached this height for seven years.
He twice broke the world record for pole vault last winter with jumps at 6.17 and 6.18 m, erasing the mark of Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie (6.16 m in 2014). Duplantis must meet Lavillenie on February 27 in Clermont-Ferrand for the All star pole vault, before the indoor Euro in Torun (Poland March 5-7) of which he is favorite.
