On Wednesday evening, Sampdoria also had to believe it: there was no goal scored until minute 75, but Rafael Tolói broke the headline and Luis Muriel shot in the second line, 2-0. The new Serie 3 number 3 is now fifteen points ahead of number 5 AS Roma – with seven rounds to go – and is almost certain of Champions League football. On Saturday a nice test against leader Juventus awaits.
West Bromwich Albion-Derby County 2-0
The beautiful unbeaten run of Derby County came to an end on Wednesday evening. Phillip Cocu’s team had won five of the last six games and suddenly dreamed of playoffs for Premier League football. Champions league-leader West Bromwich Albion, however, proved too strong for it The Rams: thanks to a great goal by Grady Diangana and a good header by Dara O’Shea, it became 2-0 at The Hawthorns. West Brom is heading for promotion, Cocu and his team are not yet eliminated: the number 9 of the competition is three points behind number 6 Cardiff City, with four rounds to go.
