The Amsterdam presenter and program maker Luuk Dresen passed away yesterday at the age of 27. Dresen presented programs on AT5 and was the presenter of the popular YouTube channel Nieuwe Guests, with more than 400,000 subscribers.

Dresen died in his hometown as a result of a fatal accident, says his manager Cyriel Marijnissen against broadcaster AT5† “I just can’t believe it. Your world comes to a standstill in one fell swoop. I can barely comprehend it.”

His death was announced this morning on his Instagram page. “Luuk was extremely talented and full of ideas and plans. He was always there for others and that is how we will remember him,” a photo of Dresen reads.

“Cruel and tough”
Several famous Dutch people react to his death. For example, presenter Chantal Janzen writes: “Incredibly cruel and hard. Thank you dear Luuk, for all the beautiful moments.”
