Arsenal have retired from the Europa League after an overtime defeat. Against Olympiacos Piraeus, the “Gunners” flew 1-2 after the 1-0 first leg win Out. The team with German stars Bernd Leno, Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Özil in the starting XI went into the game as a clear favorite.
Aubameyang dream goal is not enough
After 90 minutes, however, it was 1-0 for the Greeks, who defended strongly and gave little chance of scoring for the English. The gate was created after a corner. Goal scorer was central defender Cissé.
In extra time, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the goal of a 1-1 draw with a fantastic fall-back, which would have meant Arsenal’s progress (113.). The cross was cleared, but the second attempt sat. Masouras flanked from the right side into the center, where Youssef Al-Arabi lurked and steered the ball into the goal. The Mikel Arteta team has to say goodbye early.
