At the Gerindra Congress, Jokowi: We Have to Overcome Covid-19 in Our Own Way!

JAKARTA, AYOBANDUNG.COM – President Joko Widodo gave a virtual speech at the Gerindra Party Extraordinary Congress in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, Saturday (8/8/2020).

Jokowi in his remarks invited all Gerindra cadres to fight together to get out of the crisis that caused the corona virus outbreak Covid-19.

“As a nation of warriors, we must be able to solve our own problems, in our own way, with our own capabilities, to achieve national interests in realizing the great goals of our nation, Indonesia,” said Jokowi.

“This spirit is what we must continue to encourage when facing this very, very difficult situation,” he said.

Jokowi said, the world is currently experiencing the worst financial crisis since the great depression in 1930. He asked people to be grateful in the current pandemic situation.

“In the midst of a tough situation like this we must be grateful, there is a spirit of mutual cooperation, mutual help, sharing the burdens between various elements of society,” he said.

Jokowi continued, “We are grateful for the emergence of various innovations from the nation’s children to create various products in the health sector that we previously imported more.”

The former governor of DKI Jakarta also said that this crisis situation can provide many lessons.

According to him, not only to get out of the worst conditions, but also to make various transformations and leaps of progress.

“As an example of resilience in the food sector, WHO has warned that it is a pandemic Covid-19 “It could have an impact on the food crisis because of that after assigning Mr. Prabowo as minister of defense to fight for the strategic national food reserves which we will soon build in Central Kalimantan,” he said.

“So that we are able to produce what our food needs strengthen our national resilience, especially in the food sector,” he said.

Lastly, Jokowi reminded Indonesia to have strong capital to stand on its own feet by seeing a population of 267 million Indonesians with the most productive age.

“It’s time for us to see what our strengths are to make leaps of progress.”

Besides JokowiPreviously, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri gave her speech virtually at the Gerindra Party KLB.

Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani said the implementation of the KLB was the result of an agreement at the Gerindra National Conference on June 4.

Outbreaks are held physically and virtually, given the timing of the pandemic Covid-19.

“The KLB agenda will discuss the accountability of the DPP which will be conveyed by the General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto, as well as his inauguration as General Chair and Chair of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees,” Muzani said in his statement on Gerindra’s Instagram account, Friday (7/8/2020).

Muzani said that Prabowo’s inauguration as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees was also the result of the National Rapimnas.
