At least ten shootings have been reported in NYC in twenty-four hours – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORKNew York City experienced a violent Friday after at least 10 shootings were reported that have left 13 victims, both injured and killed, authorities said. The data shows a great difference to 2019 when 2 shootings and 2 victims were reported on the same date, the Uniformed said.

In one case, Ethan Williams, a 20-year-old boy from Indianapolis who was in the city, was the fatal victim of a shooting that occurred in Brooklyn at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, near from 42 Eldert Street. When police arrived, the young man was on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where he was declared dead, authorities said. In this case, it appears that the young man was not the target of the shooting, but the reason for his visit to the city is unknown and there are still no arrests.

Another case was reported by authorities at around 11:45 pm on Friday in front of 425 West 25th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. A Citizen App video shows the scene after two people were injured in the incident, one of 24 in the right foot and a minor under 16 in the arm and leg, police said. They are both in the hospital in stable condition. There have also been no reported arrests and the investigation continues.

On the NYPD page where statistics are provided of crime in the city, shows that until October 18 in the city there have been 1,515 victims of shootings unlike in 2019 at the same time where 762 had been reported. In addition, 1,235 shootings so far this year until October 18, unlike 2019 when 642 had been reported at the same time.
