After the tragedy with six deaths in red by the lake, Adrian S. (26) is in custody. His grandfather had to bring the sad news to relatives at his wife’s funeral.
Adrian S. is accused of shooting his parents, step-siblings, uncle and aunt the day before, the prosecutor and police said.
“I just killed several people”
The case shocked the quiet 5300-inhabitant community on Friday: Around 12:45 p.m., shots were fired in the S. family’s house. Three minutes later, 26-year-old Adrian S. called loudly “Image”– Newspaper the police: “I have just killed several people.”
S. was kept on the line while the emergency services rushed to the scene. “We are assuming a family drama,” later police chief Reiner Möller said at a press conference on Friday evening. All victims are from one family.
The perpetrator shot his parents
The fatalities are three men aged 36, 65 and 69 and three women aged 36, 56 and 62. Among them are Adrian’s father Klaus S. (65) and his mother Sylvia S. (56).
The crime scene is located in a building with a restaurant on Bahnhofstrasse. According to the “Südwest Presse” it was closed for a long time. There used to be a pub in the building. In the meantime, the “German Emperor” inn is open again.
Sports shooter with gun license
S. killed four people in the restaurant, two more in front of the building. When the police arrived, the 26-year-old was in front of the house. He was arrested there. Some of the victims lived in the house with the restaurant where the crime took place. Adrian S. also lived there.
The offender is German and has a gun license as a sports shooter, said Police President Möller. For the deed, he used a semi-automatic weapon. He hadn’t appeared before the police before.
Grandpa lost his daughter Sylvia on the day of his wife’s funeral
As the “Bild” reports further, S. used the opportunity of a small family gathering to kill his relatives. His mother S., who had moved out of the house a long time ago, was visiting Rot am See with her adult daughter from her first marriage and two small grandchildren because she came to her own mother’s funeral.
After the grandmother’s death there were probably inheritance disputes within the S. family, an acquaintance said to “Bild”. It was the grandpa who had to tell the mourners during his wife ‘s funeral: “I have very bad news. Two other people were injured in the shootout, one of whom is in mortal danger. In addition, two offenders were threatened by the perpetrator, and they are now receiving psychological care.
