Emergency medical service, Usca, Drive through and tracking center they will continue to work to monitor and trace the infection and to assist citizens in a period of the year traditionally dedicated to family affections, to a well-deserved rest from work but which can bring with it, with winter just around the corner, even the symptoms of seasonal flu , such as colds, coughs, joint pains and fever, which can easily be mistaken for Covid 19 symptoms.

To avoid unnecessary worries or anxieties, from 24 to 27 December and from 31 December to 3 January, in the territory of the North West Tuscany AUSL, to give continuity to the activities carried out by general practitioners and family pediatricians, it will be in operation, as always, the continuity assistance service (former medical guard), but with one more innovation: the doctors on duty in the 51 continuity care centers will be supported by the staff of the 53 Usca currently active in the company territory.
The Usca are the special units of the continuity of care that can intervene at the home of patients to correctly diagnose a seasonal flu or a positive case of Covid, because they are equipped with the tools and skills necessary to do so in complete safety and avoiding the use of the emergency department. Relief.
On the same days, the Usca and continuity of care doctors will also be able to count on telephone consultations with hospital specialists in cardiology, pediatrics, pulmonology, internal medicine, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics of the reference hospitals in cases where further investigation is required. The goal is not to overload doctors with continuity of care and to enhance home visits in doubtful cases.

During the holidays it also continues the opening seven days a week of the Company’s six main drive-throughs. The stations of Livorno, Lucca, Pisa, Pontedera, Lido di Camaiore and Carrara will in fact always be open. The swabs will also continue to be carried out at the drive throughs based in Aulla, Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Volterra, Piombino and Portoferraio, where activities will be suspended only on 25 December, 27 December, 1 January and 6 January, while at the through Cecina the activity will be suspended on 25 and 26 December, 1 and 6 January.

The Carrara tracing plant is also fully operational.
