Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has apparently been sacked

Already announced in June Ubisoft’s Ashraf Ismail on Twitter that he stepped down from his role as the creative director of the Assassin’s Creed franchise (e.g. Valhalla, Black Flag and Origins) after allegations of a long-term extramarital relationship with a fan. The allegations came as part of a bigger wave of reports of sexual assault, harassment and misconduct in the gaming industry.

Kotaku.com reports today that Ismail has been fired, referring to an internal company circular. In this it was announced:

“Following an investigation by an outside firm, it was decided that Ashraf’s employment with Ubisoft had to be terminated. We cannot provide details of this confidential investigation.”

PCGamer.com explains that the streamer “Matronedea” made the relationship public on Twitter. Accordingly, Ismail lied about his status as a married husband for a year while he was “with her” again and again.
