In recent weeks, several cases of workplace harassment and misconduct have been uncovered within Ubisoft. One of the most talked about involves Ashraf Ismail, creative director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, who stepped aside to solve problems in his personal life. Now, the French company confirmed that this creative was fired.

According to information from Kotaku, yesterday Ubisoft sent a message to employees of Ubisoft Montreal, a studio where Ismail was the chief creative officer of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. In it they were notified that after an investigation by an outside firm, a decision was reached that Ismail should be fired from Ubisoft.

“After an investigation by an outside firm, it was determined that Ashraf’s employment had to be terminated. We are unable to provide details on this confidential investigation, ”reads the message that Ubisoft shared internally.

What was Ashraf Ismail accused of?

Now, what did Ismail do to get fired? At the end of June, accusations arose that ensure that the creative took advantage of his position to have extramarital relations with different people. Furthermore, he lied about his marital status.

Thus, the seriousness of the accusations against Ismail is that he used his position as a top Ubisoft creative to seek relationships with women new to the video game industry.

“This person is married. When he starts a relationship with you, you should know that he is married, “said Dani, a streamer who was affected by Ismail’s behavior.” I don’t want other women to go through the same thing and many have told me that he did the same to them and all have been in the industry ”.

We remind you that the June 24 Ismail stepped down from developing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to “take charge of trouble” in your personal life. This happened shortly after the allegations came to light.
