Some professionals at Hospital de Braga are dissatisfied with the conditions of offices located in the hall main unit, allegedly because it is not possible to work with the appropriate safety distances.
In a complaint received at O MINHO, it is said that the offices for scheduling exams abroad, first consultations, moderator fees and UHGIC do not have the necessary conditions to prevent contagion from Covid-19.
One of the three offices located there, the user support office, will have been closed when the State of Emergency entered into force, proclaimed by the President of the Republic, but the other two remained open.
MINHO knows that the employees asked the heads of the two offices to close, claiming that it is possible to do the same service via telework. But only the user support office will have been closed.
The professionals point out that, in these small rooms, “it is not possible to maintain safe distances due to limited space”, indicating that five people work in them.
They also say that “no protection has been installed, unlike vinyls placed in consultation offices”.
Employees fear for their health and that of their family, as they consider themselves “unnecessarily exposed”.
MINHO contacted the administration of Hospital de Braga, E.P.E., via email, having already received a response.
According to the board of directors, this situation “was not known to them, nor has there been any request from health professionals, as it was broadcasted”, he guarantees.
They also mention that the Braga Hospital has a Contingency Plan in place for Covid-19, which provides for the adoption of measures, according to the guidelines of the Directorate-General for Health.
“The protection of health professionals and users is the maximum objective of Hospital de Braga, which has been implementing contingency measures, according to the evolution of the current pandemic”, stresses the administration, without revealing, however, whether it will close those offices.
