AS Saint-Priest will create an unprecedented futsal section by absorbing Team Bel Air

AS Saint-Priest has started the process to create a futsal team from next season. A historic first for the blood & gold training.

As a first step towards the creation of a futsal section for the 2021-2022 season, AS Saint-Priest and Futsal Team Bel Air presented their joint project to the District of Lyon and the Rhône on Monday, December 14. This provides for the absorption of the recently finalist team of the Coupe de Lyon and Rhône de Futsal (defeat against OL, 10-8, on October 11) by the blood & gold formation, which would acquire as well as a team specializing in the discipline for the first time in its history.

File awaiting validation by the District

Facilitated by the presence of many players and staff members who have worked with ASSP within Team Bel Air, recently promoted to D2 in the District of Lyon and Rhône, the absorption is awaiting validation after receipt of the file by the Prevention / Security / Ethics / Mediation Commission (PSEM) of the District.

The creation of a futsal team would constitute a historic first for the ASSP, yet in the history of the discipline by having won the first edition of the French Fustal Cup in 1995 (note: 3-1 against Le Perreux -Joinville) with a team made up of players from the 11-a-side pennant team and its trainer Bernard David.
