As a samurai or “ghost” in the open game world

Could be 2020’s Days Gone. And that’s what I mean by not being positive. Somehow the air has been out of this console generation for years. Or from AAA games in general, almost everything just gives me a shrug.

I wanted to write that in a similar way.
It was the same day before yesterday for the Unreal Engine 5 presentation. That was also next-gen graphics with ancient gameplay. No idea how to bring the genre back to the front, but slowly the games hang out to me. Certainly very nice if you have only been a gamer for 5 years or so, but with my around 24 years of gaming on my hump I just fall asleep. The whole genre of action adventures has felt stagnant since Uncharted 2.
Climbing, squeezing through crevices, a bit of stealth, riding / driving here and there and in the end it becomes a shooting gallery anyway.
But Days Gone as a comparison is 100 percent accurate. It was also a strange game. Somehow it was a bit of fun, but all the time I had the feeling that something was not really right. It felt like PS3, just prettier.
Well, let’s see what the new console generation brings. Slowly something could happen again from the pure gameplay.
