Aryadan Muhammad, who was a leader of the Samantha Congress who took a secular political stance, was active in the field of organization by organizing plantation workers. Initially, Munderi rubber plantation workers were organized and traveled 38km through the forest from Nilambur. He became active in Congress in 1945 when he listened to Muhammad Abdurrahiman Sahib’s speech in Chantakunni. Aryadan Muhammad (87), who was Kerala minister four times and Nilambur parliamentarian eight times for 34 years, died in a private hospital in Kozhikode. While still a student of Nilambur Manavedan High School, Vidyathi was drawn to Congress. When the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru arrived in Nilambur in 1953, Aryadan Muhammad worked as a volunteer. Aryathan Manavedan was also active in the arts and sports and was the captain of the school’s football team. He was active in politics during his he studies. In 1956, Vandur Farka was elected Secretary General of the Congress Committee, which included today’s constituencies of Nilambur and Vandur. Later he became active in the field of work organization.
