donegal Artist Sinead Gallagher Brings Two Decades of international Experience Home with ‘Home Shores’ Exhibition
Lifford, County Donegal – After a distinguished 20-year career painting on the international stage, Letterkenny artist Sinead Gallagher is set to unveil her first solo exhibition in her native County Donegal this Sunday.”Home Shores,” a collection of evocative abstract expressionist paintings, will launch at the lifford Old Courthouse on September 7th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.The exhibition marks a important homecoming for Gallagher, who recently returned to Ireland with her husband, filmmaker and poet Marc Littler, and settled in Kilcar. For over two decades, Gallagher honed her craft and built a reputation across Germany and North America, holding over 40 solo and group exhibitions in Germany and Switzerland. her work has garnered recognition in international art publications, featured on album artwork, and found homes in private collections throughout Europe, North America, and Ireland.
Gallagher doesn’t just create art; she cultivates artistic spaces.While based in Germany, she established and ran her own artist studio and exhibition venue near Frankfurt, curating over 20 exhibitions. Now, back in Donegal, she’s opened a second studio in Kilcar and taken on the role of Assistant Director for the upcoming Kilcar International Film Festival (KIFF), slated for February 2026.
