Bola.net – Arsenal swallow defeat when meeting Liverpool in the second leg of the semifinals Carabao Cup. Playing at the Emirates Stadium, Friday (21/1/2022) early morning WIB, Arsenal lost 2-0.

Diogo Jota scored two goals, he scored each in the first and second half. Jota also ensured victory with Liverpool 2-0 on aggregate after playing 0-0 in the first leg.

For Arsenal, the failure in the Carabao Cup was another bad result in the 2021/2022 season. Previously, the Gunners were also eliminated in the FA Cup after losing to Nottingham Forest.

So, what is the report card for Arsenal players when they were arrested by Liverpool? Check it out below Bolaneters:

Ramsdale is actually not busy enough in this match. Because, of the 11 kick attempts made by Liverpool, only three led to the goal. But, it wasn’t Ramsdale’s best day.

Of the three shots on target Liverpool, two became goals. Ramsdale only made one save in this duel.

Kieran Tierney – 6

Tierney has a good combination with Martinelli during the build-up process. However, there were some details that the Scot missed and made a big impact.

In the process of Liverpool’s second goal, Tierney only looked at Gordon and did not put pressure on Alexander-Arnold. As a result, created a brilliant assist for Jota’s goal.

Ben White – 6

In the first leg, Ben White played very well. Meanwhile, in the second leg, Ben White seemed to struggle very hard. He failed to provide protection for Ramsdale.

In the process of Jota’s first goal, Ben White did not provide a good cover for Tomiyasu. His attempt to block Jota’s shot also failed.

Gabriel – 5

Gabriel failed to apply the offside trap on Jota’s second goal. It was a minor mistake, but it had a huge impact. He was also not strong enough to block Jota’s pace.

Throughout the match, Gabriel seemed to be taking care of Firmino.

Takehiro Tomiyasu ―― 4

Tomiyasu was teased by Diogo Jota in this match. Usually, players from Japan are very disciplined and strong in one-on-one duels. But, not when I met Jota.

Liverpool’s first goal came when Jota easily passed Tomiyasu. Not only was Tomiyasu hit under the ground, Tomiyasu also faltered when he tried to catch up to Jota.

Lokonga had made a brilliant pass that led to Lacazette’s opportunity. It was a unique moment, because Lokonga’s main task was to survive. However, it is not run optimally.

Lokonga was overwhelmed by Liverpool’s aggressive midfielders and attackers. Lokonga could have done better.

Martin Odegaard – 7

Odegaard played his role quite well. He released two key baits. Overall, Odegaard’s pass accuracy in this match reached 90 percent. He didn’t look bad.

However, Odegaard operates too far from the Liverpool penalty box area. This makes him less of a threat to goal.

Bukayo Saka – 6

Not the best standard of Bukayo Saka. He was not able to pose much of a threat to Liverpool’s back line. Saka looked difficult to face Andy Robertson who played solidly on the left side of Liverpool.

Saka only made three dribble attempts throughout the match, two of which were successful. In addition, Saka also only released one shot.

Emile Smith Rowe – 6

Smith Rowe played since the early minutes. He operates behind the attacker. He gave many options up front, but in general it was difficult to deal with Fabinho.

Smith Rowe failed to release any key bait in this duel. So, do not be surprised if pulled out in the second half.

Gabriel Martinelli – 7

In the first half, Martinelli reported enough for Liverpool’s defense. He made Alexander-Arnold not free to help attack. But, in the second half, he was not very effective.

Throughout the game, Martinelli did two shots. Only one hit the target. Meanwhile, of the eight dribble attempts made, only four were successful.

Lacazette should be able to bring Arsenal to a good result. At the start of the game, he had several golden opportunities. However, Lacazette was not effective enough to take advantage of it.

Lacazette only released two shots throughout the game. He was then withdrawn in the second half.

Eddie Nketiah – 5

Nketiah stepped in in the 74th minute, to replace Lacazette. Worked hard enough, but failed to score.

Thomas Partey – 3

Played in the 74th minute, Partey actually became a disaster for Arsenal. He got a red card. Very bad.
