There is an incredible background behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s third night at the Sanremo Festival. The AC Milan striker, despite having left Milanello at 15.30, kept everyone anxious: due to a major accident on the motorway he arrived in Liguria very late, once the evening had already begun, so much so that the whole Festival lineup seems that has been revolutionized. The appearance of Ibra was in fact expected for much earlier, instead, the expected duet with Sinisa Mihajlovic, in which the two sang “Io vagabondo” by Nomadi together with Amadeus and Fiorello, is postponed to after 11 pm, when on the notes of the same gypsy song Zlatan finally appeared. “Good evening everyone, sorry for the delay: there was an accident on the highway, I hope no one was hurt first of all.” Then the story: «After three hours stopped in the car, I said to the driver“ I have to get out, open up ”. I stopped a motorcyclist who was passing by and I told him: “Take me to Sanremo!”. Luckily he was a Milan fan ».

The poor fellow, says Amadeus, should have gone to Livorno, but for Ibra he made a “small” detour. The real hero of the evening. And perhaps to convince the skeptics that such an Ibra-like story is true, Zlatan also shows a video of him aboard a motorcycle. “Do you think that the motorcyclist told me: “This is my first time driving on the motorway”.The grimace of a consummate comedian follows. “Besides, it’s still a bit cold to ride. Anyway in the end I arrived, all to come to the my festival, not your Amadeus », the gloss that brings Ibra back to the version of himself staged in the early evening when he played the super macho who must never ask, amusing the spectators.

In the second evening he had instead had to settle for a connection from a distance: he was in fact busy watching from the San Siro bench his teammates who suffered against Udinese. “He loves not to touch too much that afterwards I come back and check that everything is okay”, he joked on the video with Amadeus, reminding him that by now the he is the true director of the Festival.

On the other hand, he had made it clear immediately in the early evening, listing the rules of the Festival according to Ibra. «11 versus 11 singers. Are there more? Sell them! Liverpool are looking for four defenders. Otherwise I keep them in my garden ».

But it is the third evening that he will remember. Ibra had spent the morning in Milanello, where he had undergone treatment to treat the injury to his left adductor which will keep him off the pitch for three weeks. In the afternoon, the stormy transfer to Sanremo. And who knows if the champion has not cursed the moment when – also for reasons of image – he decided to abandon the idea of traveling by helicopter to choose the motorway (with its risks) like everyone else. Impasse overcome in a decidedly original way.

Then around 11.30 pm the highly anticipated duet with my friend Mihajlovic: «A great friend of mine, a gladiator who had great courage, in the field almost as strong as Ibra». The two then recounted their particular relationship «started with a head» during a Juve-Inter, won by the Nerazzurri («I don’t remember how it ended», Ibrahimas Ibra who was at Juventus at the time). «Then when he came to Inter, I wanted to give it back to him – laughs Sinisa -, but it’s our way of showing affection. Then we became friends ». The gag went on enjoyable: “He envies me the Champions League, there are those who play it, like him and those who have won it, like me,” Mihajlovic insisted. Response from Ibra: “There is time”. It will have pleased all the Milan fans, including the motorcyclist.
