Around seven million people with corona infection worldwide

According to calculations by the Reuters news agency, the number of people tested positive for Covid-19 worldwide rises to over seven million. This is mainly due to significant increases in Brazil and India. Almost eight billion people live on earth.

The increase was 1035 on Friday, 827 on Thursday, 1045 on Wednesday, and 761 on Tuesday.

OPEC has agreed to extend the current reduction in its oil production by another month. Iran’s oil minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said in a video message on Saturday that the cut in production to support prices should now continue until the end of July. After the outbreak of Corona in mink, all fur animals on the affected farms in the Netherlands are killed. The Ministry of Agriculture had decided to clear it after at least two people had been infected with the virus by mink. Animal rights activists had tried to prevent the eviction with an injunction. However, a court had given the green light on Friday evening. The ministry fears that the fur animal farms could be a permanent source of infection. The animals are killed with a gas and the carcasses are then destroyed by a special company. The stables should then be disinfected. There are still around 150 fur farms in the Netherlands. From 2024, breeding mink is prohibited after a court decision.

Poland is extending the ban on international flights until June 16 due to the corona crisis. Domestic flights by the state-controlled airline LOT have been available again since June 1st. To date, 25,410 infections with the novel corona virus and 1,137 deaths have been identified in Poland.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Lower Austria rose by seven on Saturday to 2,880.
