LOS ANGELES, CA – Arnold Schwarzenegger recently made a lighthearted remark about his divorce from Maria Shriver, revealing she contacts him regarding the residuals from his 1996 holiday film, Jingle All the way. The actor shared the anecdote during an Amazon event in May, according to reports.
The comment offers a glimpse into the evolving relationship between Schwarzenegger and Shriver, who finalized their divorce in 2021 after 25 years of marriage and a period marked by personal turmoil. Their split followed the revelation of Schwarzenegger’s affair with their family housekeeper, Mildred Baena, resulting in a son, Joseph Baena, now 27.
Despite the initial pain - Shriver described experiencing an “emotional breakdown” upon learning of the affair – the pair have since cultivated a cordial relationship. They recently reunited to celebrate the wedding of their son,Patrick Schwarzenegger,alongside their other children,Katherine,Christina,and Christopher.
Actor Rob Lowe, a guest at the wedding, recalled Schwarzenegger’s speech, noting he said, ”‘It’s good to see everybody here…It’s a splendid day. And Patrick is killing it now with The White Lotus.'”
Shriver publicly expressed her joy for her son’s new chapter in a september 18th Instagram post, writing, “What a new era you are stepping into…I’m so honored to be your mama.”
